St. Katherine's Dock Picture
History of St. Katherine's Dock! It's worth noting that St. Katherine's dock was officially opened on the 25th of October 1828! The name St. Katharine Dock derived from the St. Katharine's hospital nearby the famous Tower of London! For more than a thousand years St. Katharine's Docks was the centre of attention in relation to commerce business during the days of King Edgar's legacy dating back to the 10th century and throughout the turbulent middle ages of Elizabethan times to the construction of St. Katherine's dock! Even today in the 21st millennium, St Katharine's Dock is playing an important role in the life of the City of London being kept busy with boat loads of people who wants to see the sights of Old London docking off at the pier and picking up passengers for sightseeing cruise tours River Thames! Photograph above is that of St. Katherine's famous sculpture of the dolphin and the naked lady set in a within the water fountain!
