Ackee contains many important nutrients such as linoleic, palmitic, stearic acids are fatty acids that is found in the Ackee fruit. Green banana yellow yam and sweet potato is also very nutritious. Plain flour fried dumplins compliments a Ackee and Salt fish meal. An English breakfast can be made up of 2 large sausages, 2 bacon rations, eggs which can sometimes be serve as scramble eggs depending on the customer's request. | Fried Dumplings!The simple way of making fried dumplins/Johnny Cakes is to use self-raisin flour, salt and water. Use 2 or 3 cups of self-rising flour, add two tea spoon of salt, mix the self-rising flour and salt to blend together. You then proceed to kneed the dough by adding small amounts of water until the dough is ready. Break off pieces of the dough and roll them into a ball in the palm of your hands the press the centre of the dough with your thumbs just to slightly flatten dough. You now need about 1 cup of cooking oil. Dumplings should be fried for 3 minutes on each side on a slow fire in hot cooking oil. Fried dumplings are a favourite of Jamaicans, and can be serve with, fish, callaloo, ackee, saltfish, meat or even corned beef slices at breakfast time. Back To Top Yummy! Yummy!
