Brief Description of Spitfire Aircraft Mk.XVI TD248 in the Photograph: The Spitfire Mk.XVI was built in the Midlands of Castle Bromwich 11th May 1945, then sent to 695 Squadron. This aircraft was used in the "Battle of Britain film in 1968. On 10th May 2001 Spitfire Mk.XVI TD248 was severely damaged in a landing accident at Duxford. Pilot walked away unhurt.
