Brief Description of Richmond Weir and Footbridge: The Richmond Weir and Footbridge are actually twin bridges. The Richmond and Weir Footbridge was constructed and built in 1894 and was officially opened by the Duke and Duchess of York, and in Attendance by the Lord Mayor of London of that era. A toll was charged then but was removed in 1938.
