Brief Description of Teddington Locks Teddington Lock was designed and erected in the year of 1811.Teddington is a name derived from Anglo Saxons times. The 'ton' element of the name means a settlement. The first element derives from Tuda's people. There are three locks at Teddington. the enormous barge lock, the still quite large launch lock, and the very small skiff lock.
