Picture of Kew Bridge
A description of Kew Bridge shown in photograph above! In the history of london bridges across the Thames river we are told that the first Kew Bridge was originally built from timber planks way back in 1759! However, it was decided that newer Kew Bridge was should be built made entirely out of Portland stone! This newer was open by King George III in the year of 1789! At a later stage not long after that 1789 bridge a newer and wider bridge was needed because of increased traffic! On this occasion during the late 1800 it was decided that a new Kew Bridge should be built using granite, after completion the latest Kew Bridge was open by King Edward VII in the year of 1903! It is worth a Visit the world's largest collection of steam pumping engines that is housed in the superlative 19th century pumping station near by the Thames river at Kew. Charles Dickens once visited the steam pumping station!
