The Akita Dog has been used for hunting ducks, birds, small animals, deers, elks, antelopes, monkeys, boars and bears. The Japanese Akita dog is highly intelligent. In Japan most dog owners of the Akita use these dogs to babysit their children while their mothers went out to worked in rice fields and else where.
