A Description of Cottontop Tamarin monkey as shown in picture above! Scientific name: (Saguinus oedipus). Cottontop Tamarins is one of the New World monkeys! Cottontop Tamarins usually habitat in tropical forests areas, such as open woodlands, dry tropical, dry thorn forest savannah, scrub and edge forests ranging from south-eastern Costa Rica in Central America to north-western Colombia, South America! Cottontop Tamarin monkeys often prefer dense vegetation with lots of vines where they are able to find numerous amount of insects. Cotton Tamarin monkey's diet in the wild consists of insects, fruits, seeds, nectar, gum, tender vegetation, spiders, small vertebrates, birds, eggs mice, frogs, and lizards! The Cottontop Tamarin monkey species are about the size of a squirrel weighing in at between 12 to 18 ounces and are endangered!
