Picture of Brighton Pier

Brief Description of Brighton Pier as shown in the Photograph: In the year of 1891, work had commenced on Brighton Palace Pier. but as time went it became known, simply as Brighton Pier. The Original Brighton Pier was opened in May 1899 spectacularly illuminated by more than 3000 coloured electric light bulbs. In the early 1980's, Brighton Pier had fallen into a state of disrepair, most of it fell into the sea.
