The Blue-crowned Lory is quite a small lorikeet bird that inhabits areas where flowering trees which they find in places such as Cook Islands, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga and Niue. The Blue-crowned Lory is known by several other names such as Segavao in (Samoa), Henga in (Tonga) otherwise, they are sometimes called Samoan Lory, Blue-crested Lory Solomon Lory. For an exotic bird known by so many names besides Blue-crowned Lory which is only a small green bird that has blue and red markings on their face and belly with orange beak and feet measuring about7 ½ inches and weighs between 40 to 55 grams. These birds nests in holes in trees, they also dig burrows in earth banks, feeds on coconuts, nectar, pollen, hibiscus and soft fruits! | |
