Aston Martin DB 2/4 MKIII
A description of a Aston Martin 2/4-seater MKIII. The foundation for Aston Martin Cars was laid when Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford founded the motor car company in 1913. The first car to be named Aston Martin created by Martin in fitting a four-cylinder Coventry Simplex engine to the chassis of a 1908 Isotta-Fraschini car. Martin and Bamford was not able to produced a car of their own until 1915, but unfortunately they could not put the car on the production line due to the outbreak of World War I. After the war had ended Martin and Bamford began building cars specially for competition races in which their cars set speed and endurance records at Brookland race track. However, make a long story short. In 1947 Sir David Brown bought out the Aston Martin marque and that was the beginning of a long series of high class supercars bearing his initials BD. And that is how the Aston Martin DB series began!
